2025 Lincoln Navigator (Lincoln)

Reliability tier: verified - see /disclosure/

Engine: 3.5L V6 EcoBoost (Ford EcoBoost, 3.5L)

440 hp / 510 lb-ft; 10-speed automatic, full-time AWD. Fifth-generation body (MY2025) - the twin-turbo 3.5L EcoBoost remains the only engine (Lincoln spec pages, dealer spec sheets for MY2026).

Applicable failure modes (6)

• Cam phaser / VCT rattle and cam-timing DTCs
• Cooling service: thermostats, hoses, degas system under tow load
• Internal mechanical failures / long-block decisions
• Low-pressure fuel delivery (in-tank pump / pressure faults)
• Ignition misfires: spark plugs and COP coils
• Turbo / wastegate / boost-control faults

Applicable parts (7)

• 3.5L EcoBoost Charge Air Cooler, Gen2 (FL3Z-6K775-B)
• Cooling system refill with fresh coolant (service item, all 3.5L EcoBoost applications)
• In-tank fuel filter service (integral to the pump module, all 3.5L EcoBoost applications)
• Cylinder head / block machining and SSM calibration updates (service item, long-block decisions)
• HPFP failure contamination procedure - flush, rails, injector inspection (service item)
• Engine oil and filter change (service item, all 3.5L EcoBoost applications)
• 3.5L EcoBoost VCT Solenoid (Ford HL3Z-6M280-A, 2017+ applications)

Platform recipes (5)

• CAC-condensation shudder fix: the Gen1 pattern (humid-day single shudder after light-throttle cruising) traces to pooled condensate in the charge-air cooler
• Ignition service for the boost-stressed 3.5L EcoBoost: misfire DTCs first, then plugs and the failed coil(s)
• Cam-phaser rattle / timing-chain service: the cold-start rattle and cam-timing DTCs (P0011/P0015-P0019/P0365/P0369) span generations - Gen2 got formal TSBs (20-2191/20-2166/20-2315) and the 21N08/21B10-S1 PCM-reprogram field actions; Gen1 carries the chain-wear story (TSB 17-0026)
• Turbo / boost-control service: boost DTCs (P0236/P0238/P0299 family) first, hardware second
• Internal water-pump service: the 3.5L EcoBoost carries the pump inside the front cover - a failed seal can send coolant into the oil pan (bearing damage) or leak externally
