Honest limits

Fitment here is year × model × engine × body class (pickup / van / SUV). Cab style and wheelbase are still not modeled - verify against the linked vehicle page before ordering.
vPIC decodes digit patterns: a fabricated-but-shaped VIN still decodes. decoded.check_digit_ok is computed locally (ISO 3779) - false means the VIN is likely mistyped, and the page warns about it.
Recalls and bulletins are the ones whose NHTSA text names this engine for this model and year, plus manufacturer bulletins and programs documented on this site (the registry). Whether a recall is still open on your VIN is not known here - check the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, and ask a dealer about emissions recalls and programs.
