OHV pushrod 16-valve V8, deep-skirt cast-iron block/aluminum heads, sequential multiport fuel injection, MDS cylinder deactivation is fitted (deactivating lifters on cylinders 1/4/6/7) - the HD shares the HEMI MDS architecture; 405hp @ 5,800 / 429 lb-ft @ 4,200; 66RFE 6-speed or 68RFE/AS69RC behind it (context only). Gas option on the new-generation Ram HD body alongside the 6.7 Cummins. Intro year on the HD body: the 6.4 replaced the 5.7L as the HD gas engine.
