- Exhaust manifold leaks (broken manifold bolts)
- Fuel delivery service (in-tank pump / filter / PFI injectors)
- Ignition service wear (plugs / coils)
- Cam lobe and lifter (tappet) wear, worst with long idling

- Broken valve springs (sudden single-cylinder misfire)
Applicable parts (2)
Platform recipes (4)
- Cooling service for the 7.3L Godzilla: pressure-test, then water pump and thermostat as wear items, pump numbers split by year (mode fm-gz-cooling-service)
- Exhaust manifold leak repair for the 7.3L Godzilla (mode fm-gz-exhaust-manifold-leaks): cold-start tick and soot tracks at the flange
- Ignition service for the 7.3L Godzilla (mode fm-gz-ignition-service): 16 plugs on the 2v SOHC V8, one coil per cylinder
- Tapping that follows one cylinder on the 7.3L Godzilla: check Ford program 24B27 first, separate the oil pump drive gear (lower front, 2020-2022) from the valvetrain, then lifters and the cam lobe (mode fm-gz-lifter-cam-wear)
