FPDM (Fuel Pump Driver Module)

aggregated BrandMotorcraft / Ford (12B597-stem)

The module that drives the fuel pump sits on the frame rail and corrodes (road salt wicks into the connector) - intermittent power loss, stalling, 'dead as if out of fuel', then fine again after sitting. CORRECTION 2026-09-10: the commonly cited Motorcraft DY-1165 cross is an OXYGEN SENSOR per the Ford catalog - not the FPDM. The module lives on the Ford PN stem 12B597 (e.g. 4L3Z-12B597-AA family); the PN varies across the 1999-2010 run - match the old module or run the VIN. Replace the pigtail/harness section if the connector is corroded, not just the module. NHTSA VOQ is structurally silent on FPDM (complaints read 'stalls / no start' without naming the module) - see fm-std-fpdm. Pass-2: the FPDM PN varies across the F-150/Expedition years too - the DY-1165-class cross covers the 2004-2008 window; match by VIN.

What this record does and doesn't claim

The FPDM corrosion failure and the Motorcraft DY-1165 cross are well-documented across vendor listings and the community, but we have not verified a per-year PN table against the Ford catalog - the module PN varies across the 1999-2010 run. Match the old part or run the VIN before ordering.
