Turbo up-pipe / donut gasket leaks

Symptoms

soot traces at the up-pipe donuts / back of the engine; chirping or hissing under load
low boost, sluggish; EGTs higher than boost implies
oil-free exhaust leak sound when cold

Root cause

The turbo feed pipes' crush-donut gaskets blow out with heat cycles (worst on high-mileage and tow-heavy trucks). A named known issue in the sourced Power Stroke history: boost loss + EGT increase.

Diagnosis

look for fresh soot at the up-pipe/turbo flange joints
compare commanded/actual boost under load; a boost deficit with no visible boot leak points inside
listen for the chirp under load (distinct from the EBPV's cold whistle)
