- power loss as the intake cakes up

Root cause
Ordinary EGR coking on a high-EGR van diesel; the dealer catalog catalogs the EGR cooler as a single assembly that includes the valve ($1,672) - replacement is a big-ticket outcome of the coking pattern. VOQ silent; service-pattern record.
Diagnosis
- read EGR DTCs; command the valve; inspect pintle and intake for coking
- clean first per the community pattern; replace the assembly when the valve/cooler is done
