Failure mode - Cummins 6.7L ISB Diesel (Ram HD, 2019+ generation)
Head gasket failure on tuned 2019+ 6.7
Reliability tier: verified - verify before ordering, see /disclosure/
Symptoms
- coolant push-out under boost, combustion bubbles in the degas bottle
- returns on stock tune - the boost, not the cooling system
Compare with the other causes of the same sign on this engine: losing coolant (2 causes)
Root cause
Stock clamping holds at stock output; raised boost/EGT on tuned trucks without head-stud preload lifts the head. Same standard as every Cummins generation: studs with the new gasket.
Diagnosis
- combustion-leak test at the degas neck; log boost spikes
- check bolt-torque history before assuming the gasket alone
Fixes
head gasket set with head studs (community-standard upgrade), deck check at machining ()
