Recipe - Cummins 6.7L ISB Diesel (Ram HD, 2019+ generation)
Specific Fix build
Reliability tier: aggregated - verify before ordering, see /disclosure/
Emissions-side repair for the 2019+ Ram HD 6.7 (modes EGR cooler failure (2019+ 6.7) / DPF/SCR aftertreatment problems (2019+ 6.7)): soot-clogged EGR valve, coolant-loss EGR cooler, and the aftertreatment pair - the DPF assembly (cab-split PNs) and the SCR converter bolted behind it. The DPF and SCR are two separate units joined by the 'DPF Bracket, Bracket to SCR' (68068959AA); a clogged DPF means inspecting the SCR before ordering.
Parts
- 6.7L Cummins EGR Valve, 2019+ (OEM Mopar) - the soot-clogged valve - OEM 4627465AG (qty 1)
- 6.7L Cummins EGR Cooler, 2019+ (OEM Mopar) - if coolant loss / white exhaust: OEM cooler 4627647AG (qty 1)
- 6.7L Cummins DPF Assembly, 2019+ (OEM Mopar, cab-split PNs) - the DPF assembly - pick the PN by cab: 68630312AA Reg Cab / 68630315AA Crew Cab / 68630316AA Mega Cab (qty 1)
- 6.7L Cummins SCR Catalyst Converter, 2019+ (OEM Mopar) - the SCR converter (all cab types) - replace if the DPF teardown shows SCR substrate damage (qty 1)
- 6.7L Cummins DPF Differential Pressure Sensor (Mopar 68312096AB, 2019-2024) - differential-pressure hoses/sensor renewed if soot-fouled - they feed the regen decisions (qty 1)
Install order
- read the fault picture: EGR codes vs DPF differential-pressure/regen faults vs DEF faults (DEF has its own recipe)
- EGR side: replace valve and/or cooler; flush coolant if the cooler leaked
- DPF side: confirm soot load/pressure behavior, then order the cab-correct DPF PN
- inspect the SCR converter while the pair is separated; replace if substrate-damaged
- renew DPS hoses/sensor, reassemble with new gaskets/clamps, run a full regen and verify pressures
Expected outcome
Clean EGR flow, no coolant loss, DPF pressure behavior back to spec, regens complete normally.
Do not
- do not disable or bypass emissions components - this reference covers emissions-retaining repairs only
- do not order a DPF without the cab check - the three PNs are NOT interchangeable across cabs
Parts budget
About $90-$1,200 in parts. It depends on what the diagnosis finds; each option below is what you buy together. Prices marked "at Dave's" are Dave's Auto Center's, the same as in his store; the others are approximate prices from OEM and maker catalogs, rounded (a manufacturer's list price can run higher). Parts only, no labor.
