The ejection/repair path for the 2V plug problem: when a plug blows out or the threads strip, the hole is chased and an insert fitted with the maker's starter tap, then a new plug goes in the insert. Ford itself publishes the repair procedure (TSB 07-2-12 - 'SPARK PLUG THREAD REPAIR PROCEDURE', explicitly naming the 4.6L 2V alongside the 5.4L 2V/6.8L 2V), which is why the mode is verified; the KITS are aftermarket (Calvan 38900 / 38950, Time-Sert 5.4/6.8 sets) - pick by insert length and reach.
