Reliability tier: aggregated - verify before ordering, see /disclosure/
Symptoms
- engine oil leak traces on the front/side of the engine

- low oil level between services
Compare with the other causes of the same sign on this engine: oil leak, oil consumption or rising oil level (3 causes)
Root cause
Seepage points documented by Ford: SSM 47020 (engine oil leak, MY2015-2018 Duratorq-TDCi) and the 23N01 crankcase ventilation hose assembly field action (MY2015-2019, September 2023) - the vent hose assembly was replaced on covered vans.
Diagnosis
- degrease and re-inspect to find the true source (valve cover, vent hose, front seals)
- check the crankcase vent hose for collapse/seepage per 23N01
- verify oil level history before hardware
Fixes
crankcase ventilation hose assembly replacement (23N01) and/or gasket/seal correction ()
