Root cause

Glow-plug circuit faults and cold-start enrichment behavior; TSB 16-0099 covers the early no-start/injector-adjacent window, and the dual-battery electrical load of the diesel van magnifies marginal batteries.

Diagnosis

battery/charging test first (dual-battery diesel van - marginal volts mimic glow-plug faults)
glow-plug circuit resistance per the service procedure
read no-start DTCs; separate cranking-speed faults from fuel-supply faults
