Root cause

From MY2010 the US Sprinter V6 ran BlueTEC DEF/SCR. The failure pattern is the DEF quality/level sensing and NOx sensors more than the injection hardware: NHTSA's 17-complaint DEF/SCR cluster (2010-2013 era-heavy, VS30 continuing) is sensor/refill behavior plus the countdown-derate experience. Service content only - the system is repaired, never defeated.

Diagnosis

verify DEF quality and level sensor behavior before replacing hardware (contaminated/old DEF mimics sensor faults)
read NOx sensor DTCs front vs rear; check the DEF dosing line for crystallization
after repair, clear the countdown per procedure and confirm the derate releases
