Root cause

The 2014-2018 2.1 runs BlueTEC DEF/SCR. The service pattern is the same diagnosis chain as the V6 platform (quality/level sensing first, pump, tank last) - the NCV3-facelift tank is its own part (906-470-18-15; the V6-era tank does NOT interchange). NHTSA evidence is directional only: the 2014-2018 complaint slice mixes the two diesels without engine names.

inspect for crystallization at the filler neck and lines
read NOx sensor DTCs; replace per DTC direction
