Root cause

The retained DPF loads with soot on short-trip duty and with ash over mileage; differential-pressure sensing drifts and clogged sensor lines produce false soot-load alarms. Regeneration duty also relies on the exhaust-tract fuel injector, whose faults show up as failed regens.
