Pickup and Van Recalls in 2026: All 50 So Far, and the 11 New Since September
Published · 11 min read
Manufacturers have filed 50 safety recalls in 2026 on the pickups, SUVs and vans we track, from the F-150 and Super Duty to the Ram 2500, the Silverado and the Express. Most are minor fixes. A few are not, and two tell owners not to drive until the repair is done.
This is our first recall digest. We will update it each month. Every recall here comes straight from NHTSA's database, for 2014 and newer model years.
Check these first
Do not drive until repaired. Two 2026 recalls carry NHTSA's "park it" warning. 26V-090: on some 2025 Ford Transit vans the brake pedal can disconnect from the booster pushrod, causing a loss of braking. 26V-289: on some 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon models, a missing transfer case component can lock the wheels without warning. verified
Wheels that can lock up. GM's 26V-083 and 26V-085 cover a transmission control valve that can lock the rear wheels on 2020 Silverado and Sierra 2500 and 3500 trucks, 2020-2022 half-tons and 2022 SUVs. Ford's 26V-576 covers incorrect rear axle bearings on some 2026 F-150s. verified
Loss of drive power. Ford's 26V-119: the driveshaft weld can fail on some 2025-2026 F-250 and F-350 trucks. And 26V-158 repeats the high-pressure fuel pump software update on 2020-2022 6.7 Power Stroke trucks that were repaired incorrectly under 24V-957. verified Our diesel or gas Super Duty guide explains that pump story.

NHTSA recalls database, campaigns received in 2026 and posted by 2026-10-31. Our scope only: the pickups and vans on our platforms, model years 2014 and later.
How to check your truck
- Run the VIN. Enter it at NHTSA's recall lookup or in our VIN lookup, which also lists the engine recalls and extended coverage programs for each engine.
- Look for "previously repaired incorrectly". Six recalls this year redo an earlier recall repair. If your truck had the first repair, it may need the second.
- Call the dealer before you drive in on a "do not drive" recall. They can arrange the repair or a tow.
What this digest does not include
- Recalls on older trucks. We list model years 2014 and newer, where nearly all new campaigns fall.
- Recalls NHTSA has not posted yet. Campaigns appear a few days to a few weeks after NHTSA receives them, so late October will grow.
- Service bulletins and extended coverage. Those are on each engine's recall page.
